The Player
It may not be apparent from the pictures, but the Zen is about the size of a credit card, though obviously much thicker.

The front of the player is made of a clear plastic, and like the Zen Stone, is somewhat of a scratch-magnet, that is, it seems to attract scratches, especially on the buttons. Creative is selling screen protectors and cases for the Zen, so it might be worthwhile to invest in them.
On the side are the USB connector, power/hold button and the stereo headphones jack.

While the Zen might seem overly complicated with the numerous buttons, the only essential ones are the 5-way keypad, and the Menu/Back button. We liked the My Shortcut button, which you can set to perform your most commonly used task. Like previous Creative DAPs, the menu can also be configured. For example, if you feel the menu is too cluttered, you can hide functions you do not use.
